The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston was originally founded in 1936 as the Jewish Community Council to provide for Jewish social welfare and philanthropic works. Since that time, the Federation has generated and distributed more than $100 million to meet the wide-ranging needs of the Jewish community by working with our numerous community partners, both locally and globally.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston is organized into six service areas:
Bureau of Jewish Education
Planning and Allocations
Community Relations Committee
United Jewish Campaign
Houston Jewish Community Foundation
Marketing and Communications
Working together, independently, and with our Community Partners, these Federation entities provide valuable human, financial, and conceptual resources and programs, which help strengthen and enrich the Greater Houston Jewish community, as well as the Jewish community worldwide.
